Serrano’s style is blunt, thorough, and thoughtful, utilizing personal experience as well as providing insights on queer theory and sexuality research hitherto unspoken. Whipping Girl would function as an excellent introductory text to trans feminism for an undergraduate classroom. It clarified my understanding of myself again. 3/5
